Thrive: Excellence in Sport Performance
Founded in 2014 by experienced coach and Certified Mental Performance Consultant Derek Falor, Thrive: Excellence in Sport Performance provides sports psychology consulting and training for teams, athletes, and performers in the Seattle, Washington area. Derek spent a year growing his audience on a simple brochure website and a separate blog while attending to his client base.
Refine Service Delivery
Thrive needed to serve clients better by making resources more accessible online. Over 8 weeks, we created a robust WordPress CMS to refine the delivery of Thrive’s training programs while elevating Thrive's brand across platforms.
Organize & Optimize Content
A quick audit of Thrive's existing website informed the revised sitemap and content strategy to fit the new direction for the organization which included teaching coaches how to provide mental skills training to their teams and including the blog on the company website.
Copywriting and messaging was informed in part by existing, archived and migrated copy from the previous site. A WordPress compatible archive of articles on Blogger were imported and optimized on the new blog.
Iterations of low fidelity wireframes were drafted to visualize page structure, user experience, and determine any gaps in content requirements for icons, imagery, and page copy.
High quality images were sourced and selected within the available budget from Thrive's archive, free and paid stock image sites to represent athletic diversity and edited to create proximity that allows the viewer to be close to the action. Icons were sourced to help aid the client area user experience.
Thrive's brand style was informed by an existing logo and color palette already in use in organizational documents and uniform athletic wear. Complementary font families fostered a feeling that is urban and energetic while remaining pleasant to read.
Integrate Client Dashboard
The integration of WP Customer Area and Additional Users Add-on plugins allowed student-athletes and mentored coaches to download resources and submit assignments through embedded HIPAA-compliant Jotforms in the client dashboard. Content strategy required deep organization of content, PDF training files, and embedded jotforms for a smooth user experience.
Along with a training session, the step-by-step client journey was documented visually as a resource for client education on how it works, how to add users, how to categorize content, and make changes as needed.
Elevate Brand
More recently the Thrive logo and icons got a refresh to reflect across print and digital platforms. Choice logo and mark was adapted to design a soccer inspired emblem for Thrive gear and merch.
